A Tale of Two Women

News

The Mary Ann McCracken Foundation invites you to ‘A Tale of Two Women’ on 8th July at 7pm via Zoom.
The Foundation is delighted to announce an extra special addition to its Mary Ann birthday event, now featuring Baroness May Blood – ‘a current day Mary Ann’ – guests will hear how she too has committed her life to fighting for the needs and rights of the people of Belfast and further afield.

Alongside hearing about Baroness Blood’s achievements, the Mary Ann McCracken Foundation will also highlight who and what Mary Ann championed in her 96 years including education, abolitionism, women’s and workers’ rights. Then you, the audience, will be encouraged to interact sharing your thoughts on how we as citizens of Belfast, and the Mary Ann McCracken Foundation, can ensure the work of these remarkable women is remembered and where necessary continued today.

The Mary Ann McCracken Foundation was established by Belfast Charitable Society to celebrate Mary Ann’s life and to build on her legacy today. As a Belfast-born philanthropist, social reformer and abolitionist Mary Ann McCracken made a huge contribution to life in Belfast, and beyond. I hope you can join us for this important occasion.

Please RSVP to archive@cliftonbelfast.org.uk by close of play on 1st July.
