Community Relations Development Officer

RCN wishes to recruit for the following post:

Community Relations Development Officer

NJC Scale Point 30 – £36,294

Term: March 2024 (possible extension dependent on funding to March 2025).

Rural Community Network has long supported the development of positive community relations in rural communities across NI. We have been the strategic lead in understanding rural community relations across NI; articulating the voices of rural communities in addressing the legacy of the past, building better relations, and developing strategies to provide inclusive support for under-represented groups.

Rural Community Network is seeking to recruit a dynamic, enthusiastic, and experienced Community Relations Officer who will provide strategic support to build better community relations in rural NI, and oversee the implementation and development of our community relations programme.

The job holder will be asked to focus on designing and delivering interventions that will:

  • address sectarianism and racism
  • promote the value of cultural diversity
  • encourage peace and reconciliation

The role will be varied and challenging providing the successful candidate with an opportunity to work across the region, at both the local and government level, to support rural communities to address issues relating to community, good relations, rural poverty and inequality.
