5G New Thinking …….in practice

5G New Thinking
An online learning and engagement event to explore developments in 5G connectivity and their application to support rural development

26 Jan 2022  10:00am – 12:30pm

Rural Community Network NI is a partner in the UK wide 5G New Thinking project.

Working closely with communities, the project will develop a community toolkit to allow the creation of networks that provide rural connectivity for cooperatives of consumers, local enterprise, councils and other stakeholders.

Our session which is for a non technical audience, will demystify 5G technology and share learning from the Orkney Islands and the new Dumfries and Galloway Rural 5g Hub .

It will provide opportunities for policy makers and rural development practitioners in Northern Ireland to consider what actions are needed here.

We will have speakers from the University of Glasgow and the University of Strathclyde, the Scotland 5G Centre and Orkney Islands Council and the event will include some discussion in smaller groups.
