Would you like to know how to be a better parent and learn the most effective ways of raising children to maximise their potential? Then you will want to know about SOOC – “Shaping Ourselves and Our Children”

What is SOOC?
SOOC is an exciting new course for parents to have fun and learn about how their children develop their emotional and social skills at home. Parents will learn how to support their children to develop these skills and how these will benefit their children later at school, in their community and throughout their lives.
Shaping Ourselves and Our Children will help parents explore:
  • Helping your child develop healthy self-esteem and confidence
  • Emotional intelligence
  • Managing challenging behaviour
  • Communication skills – what parents say and what children hear
  • Learning through play
  • Respect for diversity and our changing communities
  • The hopes and fears we have for our children and their future
Each course runs for 3 hours x 4 days, under the guidance of warm, supportive and non-judgemental tutors (who are parents themselves and have faced the same challenges in raising their own children).
There is a childcare allowance for parents who need childcare (up to approx £100). On day four of the course, parents and children come together for an interactive play session.

Programme dates are – Friday 9th, 16th, 23rd and 30th July 2021. 1.30pm – 4.30pm each day.

To enrol on the course, please see the attached flyer and register with Teresa at RCN on email teresa@ruralcommunitynetwork.org or ring 028 8676 6670.
