Crossgar War Memorial Community Hall

The project is aimed at rural groups with no current online presence and we aim to work with two groups in each of the six counties based on the criteria below. The website will contain a ‘Homepage’, as well as ‘News and Events’ and ‘Contact Us’ sections. The site will be content managed which means designated users can upload any events, news items, photographs or videos. If your group wishes to use Facebook, Twitter or any other social networking site, then this can also be incorporated.
Support is available from Rural Community Network on content management and communications such as how to write for the web effectively.
Criteria:
· Applications must be from a rural community group
· Applicants must be a member of Rural Community Network
Preference will be given to groups with:
· income of under £10,000
· no paid worker
· no current online presence
Please note that Web Bureau (RCN’s website design company) will host the new websites under the RCN domain (http://www.ruralcommunitynetwork.org/groupname) at a cost of approximately £50 per annum plus VAT for each site payable to Web Bureau by the successful groups.
