The countdown to the next General Election in the UK has begun in earnest with political parties and pundits alike gearing up for what will be an interesting campaign. Whoever wins the election will be faced with the challenge of doing more with fewer resources due to the ongoing economic crisis. It is more important than ever to ensure that our political parties have a fuller understanding of the issues impacting upon rural communities and some of the potential solutions.

RCN will be launching its very own Rural Manifesto on Tuesday 23 March in the Long Gallery at Stormont. This event will run from 12 noon to 2pm and will provide an overview of the manifesto contents. The Carnegie UK Trust Commission will also launch its 'Manifesto for Rural Communities &ndash Inspiring Community Innovation'. Formally launched in all the other UK regions RCN is pleased that Carnegie UK Trust is taking this opportunity to launch this rural manifesto in Northern Ireland. At the completion of the event, there will be an opportunity to avail of a guided tour of Stormont.

Please note attendance is by invitation only. If you would like to attend, please contact Teresa at the office by 16 March.

Due to venue size, this event will have limited numbers.
