Planning Policy Statement 14 - Sustainable Development in the Countryside

DRD has recently published the above DRAFT statement which places a moratorium on housing development in the countryside effectively creating a 'rural greenbelt' and removes any presumption in favour of development in the countryside. While it is acknowledged that unchecked development in the countryside is neither desirable nor sustainable RCN feels that the Draft Policy fails to acknowledge fully the sensitivities and complexity of the rural context.
