Communities and Policing project

Rural Community Network staff, Charmain Jones, Cohesion, Sharing and Integration Officer, Ann Ward, Rural Enabler for Co. Tyrone and Sharon O’Toole, Rural Enabler for Co. Louth took part in a Communities and Policing project through Intercomm, Belfast. As part of their three month training programme, they were all fortunate enough to be chosen for an international study visit to Palestine/Israel to hear about their conflict first hand from a wide range of delegates, statutory and voluntary organisations. The site visit in particular focused on the issue of community policing and explored comparisons with the policing service within Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.
